BOERNE ARMADILLO REMOVAL
Professional Boerne Armadillo Removal
Armadillos are a common frustration for Boerne property owners, tearing up lawns and landscaping overnight in search of grubs and insects. The area’s mix of rural acreage, creek corridors, and irrigated residential lots gives armadillos plenty of soft, insect-rich soil to dig through. At Varmint Masters, we provide professional armadillo removal in Boerne, helping property owners stop the digging and remove these persistent animals for good. Our team of wildlife biologists understands armadillo behavior in this part of the Hill Country, allowing for efficient, effective trapping.
Leave Armadillos to the Pros
Boerne’s rural and semi-rural properties give armadillos a steady food source and plenty of cover along fence lines, brush, and creek beds. Once an armadillo establishes a feeding route across your property, the digging tends to worsen rather than resolve on its own. Fencing and repellents rarely stop a determined armadillo. Professional armadillo removal is the most reliable solution because armadillos can:
- Undermine foundations, patios, and outbuildings by burrowing directly beneath them
- Destroy lawns, gardens, and landscaping overnight, leaving extensive digging behind
- Damage fence lines and footings as burrows expand deeper across a property over time
At Varmint Masters, we inspect your property to locate active burrows and feeding areas, trap and remove the armadillo, and provide recommendations to reduce future digging. We also offer repair services for burrow damage near structures, giving Boerne property owners a complete solution.

Varmint Masters was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Waylon identified the animal in my attic within minutes just by finding a footprint on an AC duct. He set traps, installed cameras, sealed seven possible entry points on the roof, and finished by spraying a sanitizer throughout the attic. This definitely wasn’t a DIY job. He explained that ringtail cats are one of the hardest animals to trap, so I was glad to have an experienced professional handling it. I highly recommend Varmint Masters if you’re dealing with wildlife in your attic.Posted on Google![]()

Wayland is fabulous. He has been our pest company since 2015. He is way more than a pest control company. He can capture and rid your homestead from any and all pesky critters who intrude your abode. Our issue was field mice. We originally used two different local companies who had now idea how to get rid of them. Too many pest companies seem to spray and that is all. Not Wayland which is where his Wildlife Biologist comes into play. I recommend him 100%. The best in the business.Posted on Google![]()

Varmint Masters was extremely professional & courteous. They came over 1 day sooner than the original appointment & conducted a thorough inspection of our attic & gave great advice/direction on helping us avoid getting squirrels in our attic in the future. Waylon was friendly & gracious and we highly recommend them & will use them again if needed.
Armadillo Removal FAQs
Why do armadillos keep digging up my Boerne property?
Armadillos dig in search of grubs, earthworms, and soil insects, and Boerne’s mix of irrigated lawns and rural acreage provides ideal feeding conditions. Once a food source is found, armadillos return repeatedly, often overnight.
Are armadillos dangerous to people or pets?
Armadillos are not aggressive and rarely interact directly with people or pets, though they can carry bacteria linked to leprosy in rare cases. Direct handling should be avoided regardless.
Can I fill in the burrows myself?
Filling burrows without removing the armadillo rarely solves the problem — the animal often re-digs the same tunnel or starts a new one nearby. Trapping and removal is required for a lasting fix.
What time of year are armadillos most active in Boerne?
Armadillos are active year-round in this climate, with digging often increasing in spring and fall when soil moisture brings insects closer to the surface. They’re most active at night and early morning.
Do armadillo repellents work?
Store-bought repellents and home remedies generally provide limited results at best, since they don’t address the underlying food source drawing the armadillo in. Trapping remains the most consistent solution.
How does Varmint Masters trap armadillos in Boerne?
We inspect the property to identify active burrows and feeding patterns, then place traps based on the animal’s established routine using our team’s background in wildlife biology.
Can armadillo burrows damage my foundation?
Yes. Armadillos will burrow beneath patios, walkways, and foundation edges searching for insects, which can undermine soil support. We can assess and coordinate repair work where needed.
Will another armadillo move in after one is removed?
It’s possible if the same insect activity remains in the soil. We can offer guidance on reducing conditions that attract armadillos, though eliminating insect activity entirely isn’t always realistic in the Hill Country.
