BOERNE BAT REMOVAL

Trust our experience and knowledge

We're Boerne Bat Removal Experts

Boerne sits close to some of the largest bat colonies in Texas, and the town’s older structures, barns, and outbuildings are prime candidates for bats looking for a place to roost. When a colony moves from a cave or bridge into your attic or chimney, it stops being a natural benefit and becomes a real problem. At Varmint Masters, we provide professional bat removal in Boerne, using safe, legally compliant exclusion methods to clear colonies from homes and outbuildings throughout the area. Because bats are a protected species in Texas, our team follows strict wildlife biology protocols to resolve every job correctly.

Never try to DIY Bat Removal

Bats Require Professional Care

Boerne’s older homes, barns, and rural outbuildings offer exactly the kind of gaps and voids bats look for — rooflines, chimney flashing, barn eaves, and vents. Once a colony establishes itself, it tends to grow each season rather than move on. Because bats are legally protected, removal requires a specific exclusion process rather than extermination. Professional bat removal is essential because bat colonies can:

  • Accumulate guano that damages insulation and creates respiratory risks from histoplasmosis-causing fungal spores
  • Stain ceilings, walls, and barn structures as waste seeps through over time
  • Expand in number each season, making early exclusion far more manageable than waiting

At Varmint Masters, we identify every entry point, install one-way exclusion devices, and seal the structure once the colony has vacated, all in compliance with Texas Parks and Wildlife regulations. We also handle insulation replacement for guano-contaminated attics, giving Boerne property owners a complete, code-compliant resolution.

Varmint Masters was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Waylon identified the animal in my attic within minutes just by finding a footprint on an AC duct. He set traps, installed cameras, sealed seven possible entry points on the roof, and finished by spraying a sanitizer throughout the attic. This definitely wasn’t a DIY job. He explained that ringtail cats are one of the hardest animals to trap, so I was glad to have an experienced professional handling it. I highly recommend Varmint Masters if you’re dealing with wildlife in your attic.

Wayland is fabulous. He has been our pest company since 2015. He is way more than a pest control company. He can capture and rid your homestead from any and all pesky critters who intrude your abode. Our issue was field mice. We originally used two different local companies who had now idea how to get rid of them. Too many pest companies seem to spray and that is all. Not Wayland which is where his Wildlife Biologist comes into play. I recommend him 100%. The best in the business.

Varmint Masters was extremely professional & courteous. They came over 1 day sooner than the original appointment & conducted a thorough inspection of our attic & gave great advice/direction on helping us avoid getting squirrels in our attic in the future. Waylon was friendly & gracious and we highly recommend them & will use them again if needed.
What to know about getting rid of Bats

Bat Removal FAQs

Why are bats protected in Texas?

Bats control insect populations and are protected under Texas law due to population declines from disease and habitat loss. This means removal must be done through legal exclusion methods rather than extermination, allowing the colony to relocate safely.

How do I know if I have bats in my attic or barn?

Signs include high-pitched squeaking at dusk, a strong ammonia-like odor from guano, dark staining around small roofline gaps, and bats visibly exiting the structure in the evening. Guano deposits are often the first thing property owners notice.

Is bat guano dangerous?

Yes. Accumulated guano can harbor a fungus that causes histoplasmosis, a respiratory illness from breathing disturbed spores — a key reason professional handling matters.

Can I remove bats from my property myself?

No. Because bats are legally protected, unauthorized removal can violate state wildlife regulations. Proper removal requires specific timing and licensed techniques to avoid harming the colony.

Will excluding bats hurt the colony?

No. Exclusion lets bats leave on their own schedule using one-way devices, then seals the entry point once vacated — compliant with Texas Parks and Wildlife guidelines and safe for the animals.

What time of year can bats be excluded in Boerne?

Timing matters most during maternity season in late spring and summer, when flightless pups may be present. We schedule exclusions to avoid separating mothers from pups.

Do you clean up guano after removal?

Yes. Once the colony has vacated and entry points are sealed, we assess contamination and can coordinate insulation replacement for affected attics or structures.

How long does bat exclusion take in Boerne?

Most exclusions take one to two weeks, since bats need time to exit naturally before entry points are permanently sealed. We monitor the process to confirm the colony has fully vacated.
