HELOTES WILDLIFE REMOVAL

Local. Reliable. Experienced. Affordable.

Skilled Helotes Wildlife Removal Pros

Helotes is one of those places where suburban streets and wild country share a fence line. Cedar-covered limestone hills, Helotes Creek, large wooded lots, and greenbelt behind older homes give animals cover, water, and an easy path to your roofline. From raccoons in the attic to skunks under the deck and snakes near the foundation, residents here deal with wildlife all year long. At Varmint Masters, we provide professional Helotes wildlife removal for homeowners and property owners who want the animal identified, removed humanely, and kept out for good. Our team of wildlife biologists understands how the species common to this part of Bexar County use the Helotes landscape, and we use that to solve the problem at its source.

Not sure what you’re dealing with? Pick the animal you suspect below, or contact us directly and we’ll help identify it. We also serve neighbors in Grey Forest, Leon Springs, Alamo Ranch, Cross Mountain, and Braun Station.

What We Help With

Helotes Wildlife Removal Services

Whatever is making noise in your attic or digging up your yard, Varmint Masters has a dedicated process for it. Select the animal you’re dealing with below for details on how we remove it, the risks involved, and what to expect.

Icon

Helotes Raccoon Removal

Raccoons follow Helotes creek corridors and wooded lots, then pry at soffits, vents, and roof edges to reach a warm attic. They soak insulation with waste and tear up ductwork. We remove them humanely and seal every entry point.
Icon

Helotes Squirrel Removal

Oak and pecan branches that overhang Helotes rooflines make an easy bridge for squirrels. Once inside, they chew wiring, shred insulation, and nest in the attic. We remove them and close the openings they use.

Helotes Opossum Removal

Opossums slip under decks, into crawl spaces, and around sheds looking for shelter and an easy meal. Their waste and parasites create health problems in enclosed spaces. Dedicated page coming soon.
Icon

Helotes Skunk Removal

Skunks den under porches, sheds, and foundations across Helotes and dig along slab edges. One spray near an air intake can push the smell through the whole house. Dedicated page coming soon.
Icon

Helotes Snake Removal

The Hill Country side of Helotes is home to rattlesnakes and copperheads, along with harmless species that are easy to mistake for dangerous ones. Don’t handle it yourself. We identify the snake and remove it safely. Dedicated page coming soon.
Icon

Helotes Rodent Removal

Rats and mice move in when temperatures drop, squeezing through gaps as small as a quarter inch. They chew wiring, contaminate stored food, and multiply fast. We trap them and seal the entry points. Dedicated page coming soon.
Icon

Helotes Bat Removal

Bats are protected in Texas, so removal must follow Texas Parks and Wildlife rules and avoid maternity season. Guano in an attic is a health hazard too. Varmint Masters handles it legally and safely. Dedicated page coming soon.

Helotes Armadillo Removal

Armadillos tear up Helotes lawns and flower beds overnight hunting grubs, and their burrows can undermine patios and foundations. We trap them and advise on keeping them away. Dedicated page coming soon.

Varmint Masters was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Waylon identified the animal in my attic within minutes just by finding a footprint on an AC duct. He set traps, installed cameras, sealed seven possible entry points on the roof, and finished by spraying a sanitizer throughout the attic. This definitely wasn’t a DIY job. He explained that ringtail cats are one of the hardest animals to trap, so I was glad to have an experienced professional handling it. I highly recommend Varmint Masters if you’re dealing with wildlife in your attic.

Wayland is fabulous. He has been our pest company since 2015. He is way more than a pest control company. He can capture and rid your homestead from any and all pesky critters who intrude your abode. Our issue was field mice. We originally used two different local companies who had now idea how to get rid of them. Too many pest companies seem to spray and that is all. Not Wayland which is where his Wildlife Biologist comes into play. I recommend him 100%. The best in the business.

Everything You Need to Know About Unwanted Critters and Varmints in Helotes

    Helotes Wildlife Removal FAQs

What wildlife is most common around Helotes homes?

Raccoons, squirrels, skunks, and opossums lead the list, especially on lots that back up to creek corridors, cedar hillsides, and greenbelt. Snakes are a regular concern on the Hill Country side of town, and rodents and armadillos show up year-round. The mix shifts from one neighborhood to the next, so we inspect before we set a single trap.

How do I tell which animal is in my attic?

Timing and sound tell you a lot. Heavy thumping at night usually means a raccoon, while light scampering in the morning or afternoon points to squirrels. Fine scratching in the walls after dark suggests rodents or bats. We confirm the species during a full inspection, since the wrong trap or repair only lets the damage keep growing.

Do you serve neighborhoods outside Helotes proper?

Yes. We serve Helotes and the surrounding communities, including Grey Forest, Leon Springs, Alamo Ranch, Cross Mountain, and Braun Station. For nearby areas, see our San Antonio wildlife removal and Shavano Park wildlife removal pages. If you’re not sure we cover your street, call us and we’ll confirm.

When are wildlife problems worst in Helotes?

Late winter and spring bring denning and nesting, as raccoons, squirrels, and skunks look for protected spots to raise young. Fall pushes rodents and other animals indoors as temperatures drop, and snakes stay active from spring through early fall. Calls come in all year, so a quiet season doesn’t mean a safe attic.

What should I do if an animal is inside my home?

Stay calm, keep children and pets away, and don’t try to corner it or chase it out. Close interior doors to confine it to one room if you can, then call us. Most bites and scratches happen when an animal feels trapped. We can talk you through safe next steps while we head to your property.

Why won’t a store-bought trap fix the problem?

A trap handles one animal, not the opening that let it in. Without sealing the entry point, another raccoon or squirrel finds the same gap, often within days. Repellents rarely move an animal that already has a den or nest. We pair humane removal with repair and exclusion work so the fix lasts instead of repeating next season.

Do you handle cleanup and repairs after wildlife damage?

Yes. Animals leave behind droppings, urine, and chewed materials that can carry health risks and hold odors long after they’re gone. We handle contaminated insulation removal and replacement along with structural repairs, so you work with one team instead of several contractors. We can also document the damage if you need records for an insurance claim.

Is wildlife removal the same as pest control?

They overlap but aren’t the same. Wildlife removal deals with animals like raccoons, squirrels, skunks, snakes, and bats, and usually involves trapping, exclusion, and repairs. Pest control targets insects and similar pests with treatments. We offer both, and many Helotes homeowners need help with a mix of the two.
